ANYWAY!
Jade def scored higher than Davesprite in every category ever for training (she holds all the records. ALL OF THEM), but she can’t pilot mechs because her vision is horrible. So she’s the head mechanic for Davesprite’s mech instead, but she will still fuck your shit up.
Davesprite panics all the time and wears sunglasses outside his mech like a douche so Jade frequently has to (quite literally) beat some sense into him. She rEALLY DISLIKES him at first for being able to pilot when she can’t and not being as good at it as her either (IF YOU’RE GOING TO PILOT INSTEAD OF ME YOU COULD AT LEAST BE FUCKING GOOD AT IT, GOD!!!), ‘cause she wants nothing more than to have her very own mech to kick the shit outta some aliens, but alas. She must live vicariously through him.
But Davesprite is such a dope that he grows on her pretty quickly. And he really is a good pilot when he’s not panicking. (his timing is ACE)
Dave and Davesprite can be twins, because. yes. John is the mechanic that primarily works on Dave’s mech. He tries to keep up with Jade but about 98% of the time ends up needing to ask her for help because he’s a bit of an idiot. Dave and John are best buds, but cannot get anything done, ever. Rose is the strategist for all four of ‘em, and keeps them all from falling into unbelievable chaos both on and off the battlefield. (John is madly in love with her but barely even aware of it and constantly tries to impress her by modifying and upgrading Dave’s mech without telling anyone but always ends up screwing it up horribly and running to Jade for help about to burst into tears. She can always fix it, tho)
(Davesprite is really, really glad he’s got Jade on his team)
OHGOD that leaves Dave, so I guess Dave can be the one to make first contact with the aliens coughkarkatcough. >8D
